Company and Culture - Why it Matters

November 29, 2022

Company culture is everything, especially during a crisis. We took some time with our COO, Amber Saba, and interviewed her on GreenScreens and how creating culture plays such a huge role during a crisis.

“Our company culture is more important than ever during this challenging time, and my focus is on my team,” says Amber Saba, Chief Operating Officer at GreenScreens, when asked about her work during the COVID-19 crisis.

GreenScreens is a digital signage and advertising platform focused on making cannabis retail smarter with infused technology services largely delivered through screens. Retailers love them because it is a simple platform that delivers a better experience to their customers. Brands love them because of the reach GreenScreens provides to their exact targeted audience.

Recently, Amber took some time out of her busy day leading the operational needs of this promising cannabis tech start-up to answer a few questions about company culture and how it relates to working through a global pandemic.

“I’ve been on a mission to stay connected with each of my team members, to get to know them on a deeper level as a human, not just an employee, and to be a driving force when it comes to our core values.”

There are four core values that serve as the foundation to the culture at GreenScreens:  customer satisfaction, integrity, passion, and purposefulness. Even a brief conversation with Saba will leave you with no doubt that she personifies all four in her day-to-day tasks when working with her team.

“I am also a self-proclaimed enthusiast when it comes to our company culture, although I believe my team would agree,” she adds.

However, it’s also apparent that she welcomes the opportunity to learn about herself through combined efforts with her GreenScreens crew as well.

“My team is incredibly talented, innovative, and creative. The amount of collaboration that takes place daily to develop new menu designs, solutions for COVID-19, and marketing and sales material for our untapped market is extraordinary. Being around this group of talented thrill seekers has helped me realize that I actually have a creative bone as well. When my team comes together to discuss ideas and solutions, the results are remarkable.”

Keeping GreenScreens on track with its ever-increasing momentum through these uncertain times seems like a daunting challenge on its own, and Saba does it while raising toddler twins. Many others would be nothing short of exhausted in such a situation, but in Amber’s case it only serves to underscore her unflappable passion and optimism when she is asked about the future of GreenScreens.

“GreenScreens is a burgeoning company, and one with a bright future because of our people. We will continue to attract the attention of dispensary leaders as legalization spreads, but also talented people who want to be a part of something revolutionary. We’ve only just begun.”
